I'll be in a bad mood all week because of this:

The disturbing news that Geraint Jones, not Chris Read, will be England's wicket-keeper for the Ashes.

I'm getting pretty sick at the way the English selectors - and Duncan Fletcher in particular - keep shafting Chris Read in favour of Mr Jones. He's quite clearly the better wicket-keeper of the two, and the treatment he gets is shocking. He batted well when he finally got another chance against Pakistan in the summer. OK, he only got six runs in the Champion's Trophy, in three innings, but so what?! One-day cricket has virtually no influence on your performance in the Test arena. England themselves prove that - a great record in Test cricket over the last two and a half years, whereas in one-dayers drawing a series is considered an achievement.

The simple fact is, Jones earned his right to be dropped, after hardly scoring a run all summer. Reid had earned a call up, performed well, and still gets dropped. God, it makes me angry.

1 - Totally agree with your comments; Boycott is right about Fletcher...he has to go sooner rather than later. Chris Read has done nothing wrong but Fletcher has his clique around him and Chris is not a part of it...never has been, never will be.
Cliques are proven in the long term to be dangerous and eventually unravel. Geraint Jones' chief cheerleader Nasser Hussein has led the charge against Chris since he was correctly re installed as England's number 1 and we all know how close Nasser is to Fletcher still! His nauseating outbursts on Sky Sports and in the Daily Mail are totally outrageous and a note to Nasser...you are no Richie Benaud sunshine!!
Unlike you I am on the right of politics but it is good to agree on something such as this. Unlike you I will be in a bad mood for the whole Ashes series and beyond and when Chris returns I will be at Trent Bridge to shake him by the hand if I can get to him.
Bad luck Chris You deserve better than this. There is always Celebrity Come Dancing!!! Seriously keep up the good work young man; many GOOD people appreciate you... (Comment this)
